Think Make Enjoy is a residential architectural design and build company based in Canberra. Founded in 2016, Think Make Enjoy was established with the objective of removing the separation between good design and quality built form.

The company name ‘Think Make Enjoy’ reflects our process. We design functional and efficient homes, engage current building technologies and skilled craftsmanship to deliver beautifully detailed, comfortable homes for our clients to enjoy.

Our construction team is made up of 15 carpenters + tradespeople and our office team comprises of 5, in architecture, administration and management.

We are looking for a , detail oriented Accounts Officer to join our friendly office team who will also assist with a variety of administration tasks.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team environment and who has experience in Accounts, using Xero and Excel.

ACCOUNTS OFFICER ROLE

The purpose of the Accounts Officer is to manage the day-to-day financial procedures for the business. This involves the processing of all accounts payable and receivable, client invoicing, staff payroll and general accounts administration.
Being an integral part of a small business in the construction industry, the Accounts Officer will ensure accuracy and professionalism in all tasks, following company policies and procedures, whilst maintaining good relationships with clients, suppliers and team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts payable processing

Accounts receivable processing

Client invoicing

Data entry on project invoicing for cost tracking

Payroll and superannuation processing (approx. 22 employees)

Bank Reconciliation

Credit Card Management

Debtor reporting, management and collection

Managing staff administration eg. Processing reimbursements, apprenticeship administration, course + events bookings.

Processing ACT Long Service Leave

Liaising with Accountant (external) for direction on PAYG, BAS and ATO payments

General studio administration and maintenance, assisting Operations Manager with a variety of tasks.

EXPERIENCE + KNOWLEDGE

Experience in similar role for small business (ideally construction industry) is preferrable, though we are happy to teach the right person

Experience in Xero including: Invoicing, bank reconciliation, accounts payables (batch payment system), wages, debt reporting and P&L reporting.

General office admin experience

SKILLS + ATTRIBUTES

Attention to detail and accuracy in approach.

System-orientated, and able to follow company policies and procedures

Excellent organisational and time management skills - ability to prioritise tasks

Strong analytical skills - ability to investigate and resolve account issues.

Good communication skills - friendly and courteous phone manner with good verbal and written communication, maintaining good relationships with clients, staff and suppliers.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)

Proficiency in Xero accounting software

Professional manner in managing confidential business information.

Flexible and adaptable to the needs of a small business.
