We are proud to be supporting this private business with national footprint and capability specialising in delivering design and construction solutions to the commercial sector. They have enjoyed a double-digit growth journey for the past 6 years and have aspirations to sustain this trajectory through to a successful liquidity event in the short to medium term. As part of this growth strategy they require an experienced leader and mentor to motivate and drive the sales, business development and revenue generation functions.
The role will require thorough strategic planning, consultative selling and team mentorship, while interfacing with senior decision makers across the group. You will lead the Sales & Business Development teams to identify, qualify and win opportunities through nurturing key contacts and leads within the commercial construction sector . A key responsibility will be to maintain and foster relationships created with both clients and partners to successfully expand their client portfolio and to win major projects ensuring revenue targets and profit margins are consistently achieved. You will be charged with responsibility for the identification of viable opportunities, market information and robust commercial relationships through end user relationships, commercial agents, project managers, third party referral agencies and networking groups and forums.
Key responsibilities will include:
Developing and executing the sales & business development strategy including forecasting and budgeting in line with the 3 year business plan
Create opportunity pipeline in accordance with agreed strategic plan and budget/targets
Establish sales territories and quotas, manages budgets and evaluates sales performance across the region
Plan, develop, implement and manage marketing and lead generation campaigns and measure results
Developing national strategies around identifying, winning and maintaining clients
Driving a culture of continuous client feedback and NPS improvement
Leading and developing high performing regional business development , client relations and marketing and communications teams through key KPI's and performance metrics
Collaborating with CEO to ensure the workforce plans and organisation structure meet the needs of the region, leveraging the full capability of their business development talent
Developing and implementing a risk management plan in collaboration with management ensuring appropriate action is taken when risks arise e.g. Legal, reputational and financial risks
Advanced use of HubSpot CRM system to report and track all project information
Qualifications
Certificate or degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Interior Design, Business, or a related discipline — or equivalent industry experience
10+ years’ experience in the commercial fit-out, construction, or related sectors, with a strong focus on sales and client engagement
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding KPIs and revenue targets in competitive project-based environments
Work Experience
Diverse experience in business development, sales, and design/project management roles within the commercial fit-out, construction or property asset management sector
Consistently achieved KPIs across lead generation, pipeline development, revenue growth, and client retention
Skilled in outbound prospecting and cold calling, with a focus on securing qualified leads and generating high-value opportunities
Strong understanding of contractual language, tendering, and commercial negotiation specific to fit-out and construction projects
Experienced in full-cycle lead management, including CRM tracking, opportunity forecasting, and sales reporting
Deep knowledge of commercial leasing and occupancy strategies (make-goods, CAT A/B, dilapidations, etc.)
Understanding of procurement and supply chain processes, including subcontractor engagement and cost control
Effective at pitching and presenting design solutions, value propositions, and project outcomes to key decision-makers
Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing, target-driven teams across business development, estimating, and project delivery
