The Opportunity
We are thrilled to offer a new and impactful opportunity to join the Freedom team as a Therapeutic Group Facilitator.
You’ll lead the development and delivery of therapeutic group sessions that support the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ young people aged 12–25 and their families. This role is not a traditional counselling role, but rather a dynamic facilitation position that champions early intervention, emotional literacy, and connection through peer-informed groupwork.
Reporting to the Manager – Clinical and Therapeutic Services, your role will be critical in providing therapeutic groupwork to LGBTIQA+ youth.
About You
You are a vibrant, values-aligned professional who brings:
A tertiary qualification in counselling, youth work, mental health, or similar,
Registration (or eligibility) with a professional body such as ACA, PACFA, or AASW,
Demonstrated experience in delivering therapeutic groupwork for youth,
In-depth understanding of the lived experiences and intersectional challenges of LGBTIQA+ young people,
Skills in inclusive, trauma-informed, and creative facilitation approaches.
