About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to lead construction activities on a major Tailings Dam Lift in North Queensland. This is a multi-year, $30M bulk earthworks project involving high-volume material movement and complex geotechnical works, delivered in collaboration with a national plant and equipment contractor.

This role suits a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic, lean operating environment and can deliver safe, high-quality work across civil infrastructure scopes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage onsite crews for bulk earthworks and dam construction activities
• Oversee foundation prep, embankment builds, and installation of liner systems
• Coordinate machinery and plant with external heavy earthmoving contractors
• Drive daily progress, productivity, and HSE compliance
• Conduct toolbox meetings, site inductions, and enforce safety procedures
• Liaise with project engineers, superintendents, and client representatives
• Maintain site records, daily reports, and quality assurance documents

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience supervising tailings dams, dam lifts, or bulk earthworks
• Confident team leader with solid planning and communication skills
• Practical understanding of geotechnical construction and QA/QC requirements
• Ability to work within a structured HSE framework and manage subcontractors
• Based in or near Townsville/North QLD, or open to FIFO/DIDO options
• Civil trade background or relevant qualifications preferred
