The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking a Finance Officer, Payables, who is responsible for the full function of processing NGV’s accounts payable transactions, ensuring a timely and accurate service, while liaising with internal and external stakeholders, under the guidance of the Senior Finance Manager.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
You will process supplier invoices (including foreign currency transactions) authorised in accordance with NGV policy and procedures. Other key responsibilities include:
- Processing EFT payments as per schedule and distribute remittance advices in a timely manner.
- Disbursing, maintaining and reconciling petty cash system on a monthly basis.
- Performing end of month reconciliations.
- Reconciling supplier statements.
- Responding to internal and external customer queries promptly and providing general assistance to support the Finance Team.
To be successful, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification (preferably in Finance/Accounting) with a strong working knowledge of accounting software packages.
You can deal with concepts and complexity comfortably, able to use numbers and numerical concepts to convey and obtain information, insights and ideas, use analytical and conceptual skills to reason through problems and analyse issues from different perspectives and draw sound inferences from information available. You observe fine details, identify gaps in information, look for logical sequences of information and highlight practical considerations of plans and activities.
Previous experience with D365 would be desired.
