About the role

We are offering a role of Vocational Specialist in the team at our headspace Bunbury office. RAWA is seeking the services of a committed, passionate and supportive person to provide specialised vocational services to young people who are referred for employment and education support as part of their care at headspace. This will involve assertive outreach work combined with excellent youth engagement skills to ensure young people are well supported and are linked to suitable employment opportunities.

The current vacancy is for 4 days per week.

Skills, experience, and qualifications

Work with a caseload of young people from the headspace centre who require assistance to enter into or return to employment by assessing their individual vocational support needs.

Provide assistance to young people with job searching, job applications and interview preparation. This may require liaising with local employment providers or accompanying young people to interviews and Centrelink appointments where appropriate.

Provide individualised on-going support to young people once they have secured employment to assist them in sustaining this.

Proactively engage and work with employers to open up employment opportunities for young people who are experiencing a mental health issue. Provide education and support to employers in how best to support young people in their workplace to ensure job retention.

The position holder must also have some flexibility to work afterhours if required from time to time.
