Job Title: EWM Functional Lead
Location: Sydney, Australia (3 days onsite required)
Employment Type: Contract/Full-time

Duration: 12 month contract + extensions through to end of 2027
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced EWM Functional Lead to join our client's team in leading the upgrade and standardisation of SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) across 9 warehouses (6 in Australia and 3 in New Zealand). This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring alignment to best practice business processes and driving consistent EWM implementation across multiple sites.
As the EWM Functional Lead, you will act as a key liaison between the business, project teams, and technical consultants. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and the enforcement of best practice standards throughout the EWM upgrade lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the functional oversight of the SAP EWM upgrade and standardisation initiative across ANZ warehouses.
Define, uphold, and enforce best practice EWM business processes across all warehouse locations.
Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, IT, and project teams to ensure successful design and deployment.
Serve as the primary EWM functional point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners.
Translate complex business requirements into EWM functional specifications and system designs.
Support solution architecture reviews and ensure alignment with long-term business goals.
Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies related to functional deliverables.
Conduct and support testing, training, and deployment activities.
Provide ongoing leadership and mentorship to ensure adoption and operational excellence.
Skills & Experience
Extensive SAP EWM functional and solution architecture experience in complex environments.
Proven track record in business stakeholder management and client engagement.
Deep understanding of warehouse processes and operations, ideally in FMCG and automated warehouse settings.
Experience with multi-site EWM deployments and standardisation efforts.
Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated success in enforcing process standards and driving change across distributed teams.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
Must be based in Sydney and able to work onsite 3 days per week.
Experience working across ANZ organisations or geographically distributed teams is a plus.
Availability to travel to other warehouse sites as needed (minimal travel expected).
Desirable
Exposure to integration with automation systems (e.g., conveyors, robotics, WCS).
Understanding of change management principles and warehouse transformation programs.
