O’Briens Montessori Centre is a family-owned Montessori childcare located in Modbury North, providing high quality education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. O'Briens Montessori Centre delivers educational programs whilst following the Montessori philosophy and teaching methodology alongside the Early Years Learning Framework.

We are seeking a Centre Chef for our 108-place Centre. The working days are Monday to Friday, with flexible hours for either a full time or part time position.

You will have a kitchen assistant for 6 hours each day of the week to work alongside and support you.

Position Summary:

Provide and prepare a variety of well-balanced nutritional meals

Ensure a high standard of cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment

To be an active team member of the service

Duties and Responsibilities:

Menu planning in accordance with the centre's policy and guidelines.

Ensure dietary needs are adequately catered for e.g. vegetarian, diabetic, dairy intolerance etc. An alternative must be prepared.

Ordering of items for the weekly seasonal menu.

Prepare breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack for all rooms.

Washing of dishes.

Assist with social functions e.g. Easter, Christmas, Eid al-Adha, etc.

Following cleaning checklists to ensure kitchen, sink, walls, cupboards are thoroughly clean at all times.

Ensure the kitchen is kept in a clean and orderly manner

Requirements for this role:

Working with Children Check

First aid certificate, including CPR

RRHAN-EC Mandatory Notification Training

Food safety supervisor certificate

Food safety certificate

2 years’ experience working as a cook (Childcare preferred)
