The Role
The acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is an historic and transformative endeavour for Australia. The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia’s economic and national security landscape for decades to come.
The Senior Technology Controls Officer/Contracts Administration Officer will support the delivery of the Commercial outcomes as they evolve for the delivery of the build program of the Nuclear Powered Submarine Program. A key objective of Technology Controls is to prevent the misuse of sensitive equipment and technology, assuring responsible stewardship and developing trust between AUKUS partners.
The Senior Technology Controls Officer/Contracts Administration Officer will:
- Work with the SSPD Technology Controls Manager to provide export compliance and technology controls for SSPD, including the provision of export control advice and assurance on import and export control laws, and customs regulations on Australian, European and US export and technology control regimes; and
- Work with the Prime Shipbuilding Contracts Manager on the management of the strategically important contract with the Australian Shipbuilder, exercising the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve business outcomes and providing professional advice to relevant stakeholders
About our Team
Sovereign Submarine Program Delivery Branch (SSPD) is accountable for identifying, in consultation with Australia’s AUKUS partners, the most appropriate program delivery model and construction methodology, defining the infrastructure requirements, analysing and modelling the existing Australian industry and workforce capability and capacity, and undertaking the cost estimation of acquiring and sustaining the future NPS fleet. SSPD consists of the following directorates, Business and Operations, Build Test and Evaluation, Commercial Management and Engineering.
