About Us?

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

The Goodna Clinic was established in 2014 in response to the large and unmet health and related needs of a large and growing population of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Goodna region.

About the Role?

As a GP within IUIH Goodna, you will have the opportunity to work in a rewarding environment alongside many highly skilled and multidisciplinary professionals. Your role will be an integral for providing a holistic, patient focused service to ensure clinical excellence and upholds our commitment to providing exceptional healthcare to our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and communities. Within your role, you will:

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care.
• Contribute to the maintenance of high quality information in electronic record systems. Utilise patient information and recall systems to support individual client care, and identify population health needs and gaps in service delivery
• Be a part of our unique System of Care comprehensively addressing the health and wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families through a patient centred model.
• Oversee the delivery of comprehensive preventive health assessments for clients across the age spectrum, and provide leadership for the multidisciplinary team in delivery of coordinated care planning for clients with complex chronic care needs
• Optimise uptake and income generation across the service through MBS billings
• Optimise referral pathways to specialist and allied health services for clients; work closely with the Practice Manager and service team to anticipate and identify opportunities for expanding access to these services for clients

About You?

• A current MBBS and unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia
• Specialist GP Recognition / vocational registration
• Current APHRA registration
• Current Indemnity Insurance
• Current Drivers Licence
• Current CPR Certificate

Desirable, but not mandatory:

• Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities.
