About the role
The Regional Development Officer provides key outcomes to actively grow participation in the sport of swimming through the administration of grassroots development initiatives. A primary outcome of the position is to ensure healthy and sustainable SWA clubs (practices and structures) with a solid network of volunteers.
Core Responsibilities
· Promote the aims and objectives of Swimming WA and Swimming Australia within the swimming and general community;
· Coordinate and attend development clinics/events throughout regional WA to increase participation and membership;
· Maintain channels of communication between SWA and regional clubs and schools to promote upcoming courses and events;
· Assist in administering club development programs designed to grow the sport in Western Australia. Including aspects of;
o Governance
o Volunteer Recruitment Strategies
o Club Development Plans
o Inclusive practices
o Child Safeguarding compliance
· Assist Regional Clubs in the implementation and operation of the Swim Central software
· Implement the SWA Regional Servicing Plan in association with key stakeholders;
· Participate in networking opportunities representing SWA at forums as required;
· Liaise with DLGSC, regions, clubs, members and other stakeholders on matters regarding swimming club development and education as required;
· Assist in the administration and acquittal of relevant grants and partnership funding gained to assist with the SWA development programs annually;
Any other duties as directed by the Management team from time to time.
Selection Criteria
Candidates applying for this role must have the following:
· Project delivery skills
· Preparedness to be flexible concerning work hours and intrastate travel;
· Ability to work independently with excellent initiative and passion;
· A current WA driver’s license.
· Working with Children Check.
Hours of work
· This position is 0.5 FTE (19 hours per week); working times to be discussed with the Manager.
· This position will involve hours outside of normal business hours, including weekends, early mornings and evenings on occasion.
· Attendance at certain Swimming WA events, clinics and camps is expected in this role.
Flexible working arrangements apply, and SWA provides a working-from-home policy.
