Your new role

As an APS5 or APS6 Legal Policy Officer, you will:

• Support policy work related to the administration and implementation of the Identity Verification Services Act 2023.
• Assist teams responsible for the day-to-day operations of identity verification services.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including other departments, OPC and the legal division, to deliver innovative policies and reforms.
• Provide support to initiatives under the National Strategy for Identity Resilience.
  
  What you'll need to succeed
  
  To be successful in this role, you will need:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience or the ability to learn how to interpret and administer legislation.
• Strategic awareness and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to undertake analysis and research to provide specialised advice on complex policy issues.
• Hold a current Baseline Clearance.
• A legal qualification is required for the Legal Policy Officer role.
