Workfast is looking for a qualified and experienced Welder / Fabricator to join the workshop team of a leading engineering company in Chipping Norton.

Location: Chipping Norton, NSW
Pay Rate: $52.00 per hour + Overtime + Super
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm
Start Date: ASAP

This is a hands-on role involving welding, fabrication, and structural repairs on locomotive bogies and rail components. Offering consistent full-time hours and the potential for a permanent role, this position suits experienced welders/fabricators seeking stable workshop work.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform structural welding and fabrication on locomotive bogies and components
• Use MIG, stick, and flux-core welding for repairs and assembly work
• Carry out fabrication tasks from engineering drawings and specifications
• Conduct inspections and repairs of heavy steel frames and structural parts
• Operate oxy/acetylene cutting equipment, grinders, and basic fabrication tools
• Assist in general workshop activities and maintain safe work practices

About You

• Trade-qualified Welder / Fabricator (Cert III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent)
• Solid welding and fabrication experience in a heavy industrial or rail environment
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and work to specifications
• Familiarity with structural steel repair and assembly
• Safety-focused, reliable, and physically capable of workshop work
• Forklift licence (preferred but not essential)
