Job Title: Principal Project Officer
- 3 month contract to 31st October + option to extend
- Location: Parramatta + WFH
- Rate: $650-$700 per day + super
About the Role:
This NSW Government organisation are seeking a Principal Project Officer to lead and oversee all aspects of project development and implementation.
You will manage complex and sensitive consultations and negotiations with diverse stakeholders, identify project interdependencies and balance competing demands and priorities, and ensure accountability and good governance in the face of changing expectations and increasing demands.
Key Responsibilites:
- Lead and oversee all aspects of project development and implementation including preparing project plans, establishing appropriate governance, identifying, allocating and managing resources, and meeting reporting requirements, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and in line with the Agency project management methodology.
- Develop communication and engagement strategies and build strong stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to ensure stakeholders are engaged throughout the project and project deliverables are met.
- Develop and implement strategies and tools for the continuous monitoring and evaluation of projects, including risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, and project impact and quality measures, to identify and address issues and assess project progress and overall effectiveness.
- Provide expert advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and present recommendations to support project delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy objectives and other project priorities.
- Prepare briefings for CPHR senior executives on project outcomes and issues and provide recommendations to progress issues and resolve problems.
- Develop and implement the change management plan for the proposed organisational changes, including the approach to stakeholders and preparation of communication and consultation materials.
- Support the development and implementation of the proposed organisational changes, including the planning and delivery of business and human resource requirements (e.g. organisational charts, Role Descriptions, identification of affected staff with changed reporting lines and updates to the establishment) as well as finance and information and technology system changes.
Key Skills:
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects on time which have achieved key outcomes
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement on complex and high-profile issues
- Demonstrated experience in providing policy, strategic and operational advice and recommendations at a senior level
- Extensive knowledge, skills and experience in Government protocols and procedures.
- Ideally, experience in one or more of change management, organisational design and workforce planning.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in a similar role involving delivering projects on time which have achieved key outcomes.
