As the Purchasing & Warehouse Coordinator, this role is responsible for efficient order fulfillment, inventory management, and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and accurate responses to enquiries around logistics and deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide consistent, high-quality customer service to ensure satisfaction and loyalty to our values Mercato customers.

Prepare and submit weekly purchase orders to suppliers.

Receive, inspect, and unpack incoming goods and materials.

Stock the retail store accordingly to set merchandising criteria.

Ensure appropriate stock rotation by monitoring use by dates for food products.

Ensure that stock is well-presented, rotated regularly, and aligned with brand standards to create an inviting shopping environment.

Perform regular stock checks and maintain inventory accuracy.

Prepare and pack orders for shipment, ensuring items are properly packaged and labelled.

Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks and containers.

Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently

Assist customers with product enquiries.

Job Requirements:

Valid driver's license (essential).

Forklift licence (essential).

Willingness to learn new systems and automated ordering.

Proven experience Purchasing/Warehouse or similar role, preferably in a retail/food environment.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory and stock records.

Good physical fitness and ability to lift heavy items

Basic computer skills for inventory management and record keeping

Commitment to workplace health and safety standards
