Are you passionate about empowering and mentoring individuals living with a disability to achieve their fullest potential? Westcare is seeking enthusiastic, proactive and client-focused individuals , or those with lived experiences or life experience to join our team. You’ll be assisting our participants who live independently at our Accommodation Village in Shenton Park with community and daily living skills.

Whilst our business encompasses printing, box making, food and industrial packaging services to a wide range of Western Australian clients, this role is to provide individualised support to residents of our Westcare Accommodation Village.
About the Role
The Support Mentor’s role is variable dependent upon the participants needs, goals and aspirations but may include:
Assisting participants on a 1:1 basis to work towards and achieve their goals within their NDIS plan in an inclusive and supportive way. This can include assisting participants in maintaining their independent living skills, or supporting them to connect with the local community through participating in social activities.
Providing individualised training and support in achieving their goals relating to Individual support plans.
Working in a group setting mentoring and assisting with daily living skills and facilitating activities for village residents.
Preparing regular case and training progress notes for all participants and entering these into a database. Entering payroll information.
Conducting personal plan meetings and setting and planning.
Organising inclusive social activities.
Who We are Looking For
The successful applicant must be able to meet the following requirements:
Relevant qualifications or transferrable skills
Empathy and Patience: Showing genuine understanding and compassion for participants' experiences, while being patient and supportive as they work towards their goals.Sound written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability to provide efficient and valued personal assistance to people with disability
Ability to work independently and autonomously
MS Office skills
Current Police Clearance and a NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with WA Directions
WA Driver's Licence
