experienced powder coating & industrial paint operators in Australia. With multiple production lines operating powder coating and liquid paint systems, Vertikote is the leading “one-stop shop” for all architectural, industrial and domestic applications.

As the accredited coater of choice for our customers, this important role is responsible for the performance of all factory production at our Chipping Norton (NSW) facility to produce quality work including responsibility for:

  • Safety & Environment
  • Performance and supervision of workers
  • Controlling work in progress,
  • Implementation of efficient work practices to optimise factory performance
  • Manage chemical pre-treatment systems
  • Operating plant and equipment settings
  • Managing consumables and packing

Based in the factory, this role requires an "On the Floor - Hands On" team leader with proven labour management skills, ability to allocate and control production work and other factory resources.

THE ROLE

Vetikote are seeking a proactive and hands-on Production Team Leader to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, ensuring that work is carried out in an efficient, safe, and organised manner. Reporting directly to the Production Line Supervisor, you will supervise the production crew, monitor plant and equipment, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Actively leading the production crew to achieve Zero Lost Time Injuries (LTI) and ensuring all team members work safely and responsibly.
  • Managing work areas and production functions to ensure smooth workflow and optimal labour resource allocation.
  • Monitoring equipment settings and plant performance, addressing any issues to avoid production delays.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely completion of jobs in line with the approved Production Schedule.
  • Leading by example, promoting good work practices and fostering a collaborative, efficient team environment.

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

  • Forklift Licence highly desirable
  • Demonstrable experience in a production or team leader role, with the ability to lead by example and motivate a team to meet production targets and maintain safety standards.
  • A commitment to ensuring a safe working environment and a proactive approach to identifying, reporting, and rectifying hazards.
  • Ability to ensure that all jobs are processed to meet quality standards, documented accurately, and tracked in the VPS system.
  • Practical experience with plant and equipment monitoring, including understanding of production line operations, equipment settings, and quality control.
  • A strong capability to identify and address issues that may affect production, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.
  • Able to communicate with the team effectively, management, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues.
  • A proactive attitude towards improving personal and team performance, as well as contributing to the company’s continuous improvement initiatives such as Project 480.
  • The ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment, ensuring all production-related paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
  • Experience in monitoring team performance and providing guidance to improve underperforming individuals or processes.
