About The Role:
In this leadership position in Toowoomba, you will oversee and support the day-to-day program operations in the organisation and support youth workers to develop and improve practice. In this role with DCC Industry Group you will work collegially with the line manager as you support and implement program structure and consistency. You will be an effective determined and creative leader that takes the opportunity to develop and support a residential program. This position requires strong administrative skills to ensure effective program planning occurs supporting program structure and predictability for young people and youth workers.

Key responsibilities will include:

Staff and program inductions for all new employees in residential programs

Active in the recruitment and induction of new staff

Developing weekly house planner and activity structures

Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with all youth workers and leaders in a professional and timely manner

Timely and accurate completion of administrative duties including finance requests, daily environmental audits/checks, petty cash, daily summaries, and incident reports in line with legislative and contract requirements

Up lining both client and stakeholder complaints and incidents promptly and in line with organisational requirements to the Area Manager.

Complete grocery list and weekly shopping for the program

Support youth workers and care team to implement care plans for young people

Compile staff feedback and performance issues to your manager and provide Weekly Handover

Build the weekly team meeting agenda with your manager and take the meeting minutes to send out to staff

Supporting multiple programs in the absence of other Program Service Leaders.

Any other duties as required

About You:
The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children and young people, is a strong role model, doesn’t take things personally, and can help children and young people explore themselves and their culture with good personal and leadership values.

Availability:
Must be able to do Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, including occasional on-call duties.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Minimum of Certificate IV or higher in Youth Work or Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar

2+ years' experience in residential youth work with a strong knowledge of Child Protection and Out of Home Care is essential

Strong time management and organisational skills

Current Blue Card and LCS check

Current Open/P2 Australian Driver's License

Current First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain

Proven experience in mentoring and developing staff
