Management Accountant – Financial Modelling
NSW Government Department – Sydney CBD (hybrid WFH – minimum 3 days in office) – ASAP start, initial assignment until 30/01/2026 - $80 per hour + super.

Key accountabilities:

• Monthly management reporting
• Financial modelling of complex data sets – cost allocation, cost analysis
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Analyst historical and projected financial data to identify cost drivers, draw insights and find optimisation opportunity
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (strategy, operations, accounting, etc.) to gather key data inputs and ensure model accuracy.
• Translate technical financial outputs into clear, actionable insights to senior stakeholders through clear visualisations and reports.
• Provide proactive business and financial performance information and analysis for inclusion in monthly consolidated management accounts and dashboard to ensure provision of relevant and timely financial information to Department management team

Selection criteria:

• Relevant tertiary-level qualifications
• Previous experience in a similar role (preferably within government)
• Ability to handle multiple data sources
• Strong analysis, budgeting and forecasting skills and experience
• 2-5 years corporate finance experience
• Experience using PRIME
• Desirable: previous experience using analytic tools
