About the Role:
The Project Coordinator is integral to the day-today running of a research project that will be funded by both National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the Faculty of Business Law. Working closely with the Dean of Indigenous Engagement, the position will support the planning, execution, and administration of the NHMRC-funded research project, which integrates cardiovascular health monitoring with culturally safe Indigenous healthcare solutions.
The Project Coordinator will ensure effective project management, Indigenous community engagement, and NHMRC compliance. These positions will be responsible for tracking milestones, managing documentation, coordinating stakeholder engagement, and supporting Indigenous research methodologies. The ideal candidate will have considerable experience in research and project management skills having worked with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Liaise with relevant partners, Indigenous communities and stakeholders, to identify project deliverables and define clear objectives and appropriate project outcomes, fostering the facilitation of reciprocal relationships.
- Manage and coordinate project milestone plans, timelines, implementation, and evaluation methods.
- Coordinate resources associated with the delivery of assigned tasks and/or milestones, monitor and communicate updates and reports with stakeholders, as required.
- Identify impacts and risks associated with tasks and/or milestones and report on and manage these.
- Initiate appropriate action, in a culturally considered way, as required to resolve any issues affecting project delivery.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, taking notes and following up on action items.
- Provide regular updates to the key stakeholders.
- Write and prepare reports and related documentation.
- Facilitate relevant stakeholder meetings, where Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing are incorporated into the role’s objectives.
- Monitor and report on progress and performance against project schedules and performance indicators.
- Monitor and evaluate project milestones and undertake post-implementation reviews.
- Track project budgets, and expenditures.
- Ensure project documentation is organized and accessible.
- Undertake other activities which the incumbent might reasonably be expected to do, and which are consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities as listed above
