Primary Objective: As a Trainer and Assessor you will be delivering training to students in years 9 to 12 who are completing qualifications as part of their schooling and working towards their Northern Territory Certificate of Education (NTCET). Casual position.
Context Statement: Taminmin College is a large, comprehensive and complex Independent Public School that services the rural area of Darwin, catering for students from Years 7 to 12. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitating the delivery of competence based training and assessment to VET in School Students including face to face delivery within the School environment.
Ensuring all RTO administration tasks pertaining to the course are completed in a timely manner including session plans, course preparation, assessment delivery plans, student records and final assessment documentation.
Continuously reviewing training and assessment resources to support delivery of accredited competencies and qualifications.
Maintaining professional development and industry currency.
Completing student reports.
Essential Selection Criteria:
Relevant engineering (metal fabrication) industry experience and trade level qualifications.
A passion for training and mentoring students.
A sound understanding of the VET industry.
High level organisation, time management and problem solving skills.
Willingness to continue undertaking professional development internally or externally to maintain vocational currency.
Current Working with Children’s Clearance (OCHRE Card)
TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or) equivalent

The successful applicant must have no significant criminal record confirmed by a Police Criminal History Check and be able to obtain an ‘Authority to Employ’ under category five of the Northern Territory Teachers Registration Board.
