About the role

Join the team at Strange Company in Fremantle as our new Head Chef. In this full-time role based in Fremantle, WA, you will lead and inspire our kitchen, ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

What you'll be doing

Oversee all culinary operations, including menu development, food preparation, and kitchen management

Collaborate with management to create innovative seasonal menus

Train and mentor a team of passionate chefs and kitchen staff

Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency

Manage food costs and inventory to maintain profitability

Implement and maintain food safety and hygiene protocols

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment in the kitchen

What we're looking for

Experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role

Formal culinary training and a proven track record in the hospitality industry

Exceptional cooking skills and a deep understanding of various cuisines and cooking techniques

Strong leadership and team management abilities

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices

Passion for using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and creating innovative menu items
