About the role
We’re looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Physiotherapy Assistant to join our dynamic team supporting patients across the general rehabilitation wards at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Repat Health Precinct. Working under the direction of Physiotherapists, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality physiotherapy services to a diverse patient group, including those with complex needs in Stroke, Orthopaedic, Amputee, Burns, and Spinal and Brain Injury Rehabilitation.
As part of a collaborative and supportive team—including AHP1, AHP2, AHP3 clinicians, students, and fellow AHA staff—you’ll contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the department. You will also assist in the supervision and training of AHA2 staff and students, helping to foster a positive learning environment while ensuring the highest standard of patient care.
About You
You are a motivated and compassionate allied health professional with a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent), and a demonstrated ability to support individuals with diverse and complex needs in a rehabilitation setting.
You will also bring:
Proven experience working under the supervision of Physiotherapists to deliver advanced therapeutic and rehabilitation support, including in complex care environments.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and with patients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage your own workload, prioritise tasks, and respond flexibly to the changing needs of a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Sound knowledge of rehabilitation principles, safe manual handling practices, and the ability to recognise and appropriately respond to changes in patient condition or performance.
