Our participants, Our people, Our purpose

Currently, there are around 5.5 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 717,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

A new role awaits

The National Disability Insurance Agency’s Service Design Delivery Branch is responsible for identifying opportunities to improve internal service delivery processes and systems to provide better experiences for participants. The branch aims to improve the participant experience by identifying process improvements, then designing and delivering solutions to make improvements.

The branch works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create and implement solutions that simplify processes, improve timelines and the quality of outcomes for participants. The branch designs the elements that deliver the strategic vision of the NDIS Pathway. It works to improve the consistency and equity of NDIA decisions and ensures the Scheme is aligned with insurance principles for future sustainability.

The team are seeking a skilled Business Analyst, to assist in delivering improvements to our participant experience across a range of platforms.

Where you can add value

The APS6 Business Analyst will be an independent self-starter with the ability to adapt to a continuously changing environment and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business outcomes. They will be proficient in problem solving, exercising sound decision-making and are comfortable identifying gaps and areas for improvement.

  • Translating business metrics to inform internal stakeholder requirements including efficiency, improvement and performance outcomes to optimise participant experience
  • Designing and delivering workshops, communication and consultation resources that support complex systems and business information gathering and sharing
  • Establishing and implementing governance and compliance processes, dashboards and management systems to track branch and divisional performance against plans and targets.
  • Evaluating effectiveness of proposed solutions and design.
  • Supporting transition of business requirements over to build teams for development.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you

Successful applicants will have previous experience in Data Management or similar roles and are comfortable using reporting tools such as SAS VA or Power BI to inform decision making. A can-do attitude along with excellent verbal and written communication skills will be well regarded. Business analyst qualifications and/or prior experience in large organisations or within the State or Federal Government will also be desired.

The right candidate will value social inclusion and diversity and have a passion about the NDIA’s purpose and be familiar with APS Values, Code of Conduct and Employment Principles.
