About the role

Fixed term temporary full time opportunity to contribute to the effective operation of the Adis 24/7 Alcohol and Drug Support through the provision of interventions using a variety of mediums including screening, information, advice, counselling, referral and consultancy to individuals accessing the service in relation to alcohol, tobacco and other drug use or those seeking information about health services.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Deliver structured interventions to drug and alcohol clients, including those who have entered the service via the criminal justice system.
• Provide appropriate referrals to callers to the Service utilising the electronic database and an up to date knowledge of a broad range of alcohol, tobacco and other drug services as well as general health and welfare services.
• Participate in all support activities including accurately processing and packing literature orders and enhancing the electronic agency database through updating existing agency information and identifying new referral options.
• Comply with and utilise contemporary human resource management requirements and practices, including workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination policies.
