This dual-role position also holds responsibility as our Chief Security Officer (CSO), playing a vital role in upholding our commitments under our clients contract and ensuring our business remains compliant with Commonwealth security standards, including the DSPF, PSPF and DISP frameworks.
The Compliance Officer will report directly to the Manager of Barrington Personnel Security
Key Responsibilities
Contract Compliance
Monitor and ensure compliance with AGSVA contract deliverables, requirements, and KPIs
Research and advise on contractual variations, working with senior management to implement necessary changes
Update internal policies and procedures to reflect evolving contract requirements and government regulations
Administer and report on Indigenous Procurement Policy (IPP) commitments in line with government expectations
Chief Security Officer Duties
Act as the CSO for the business under DISP, ensuring ongoing compliance with PSPF and DSPF obligations
Oversee security clearance requirements and initiate clearance applications for relevant staff
Maintain and monitor internal security systems, conduct internal audits, and ensure reporting of incidents to the security register
Lead the development of security culture and awareness across the organisation
About You
We’re looking for someone with a strong background in compliance, risk management, or government contracting, ideally within a security or defence environment.
To be successful, you will have:
Knowledge of Commonwealth Government frameworks such as PSPF, DSPF, and DISP
Experience managing or contributing to contract compliance and quality assurance programs
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex government documentation
Strong stakeholder management and written communication skills
