Cyber Security & Cloud Analyst

Hudson are proud to be partnering exclusively with a local government organisation to assist them with the recruitment of a ‘Cyber Security & Cloud Analyst’. Working in a small, close knit IT team this role will drive security initiatives across the organisation. The right person in this role will embrace this opportunity and create an impact delivering a tangible, and effective uplift to cyber security maturity.

Responsibilities

• Be the security SME within the organisation, administering the technical controls while also providing insights and reporting on cyber security risks to management
• Respond to alerts from the EDR partner to ensure cyber incidents are handled accordingly
• Implement technical security controls to address identified risks and to align with cyber security frameworks (Essential 8)
• Participate in cyber security GRC initiatives including policy development, implementation, and risk assessments
• Provide security insights for the organisation relating to project implementations and 3rd party software solutions
• Educate business stakeholders on their cyber security responsibilities
• Assist others within the IT team to administer cloud and other IT systems, ensuring continuous operation of these systems for business users

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years in IT, with a focus on cyber security
• Track record effectively responding to cyber security alerts quickly, efficiently, and effectively to contain and eradicate threats
• Experience administering and supporting cloud environments, Azure strongly preferred
• Experience administering and supporting Windows and Linux servers
• Ability to conduct cyber security risk assessments on a range of different systems
• Bring a self-drive, proactive approach to your work
• Knowledge and awareness around the ASD Essential 8 and the necessary controls
• Ability to communicate well with your peers and build strong, healthy, working relationships
