Our organisation focuses on a strength-based approach in all aspects of our operations.
We are currently seeking passionate and reliable Program Facilitators for upcoming vacancies. Our Facilitators are responsible for creating a safe and inclusive environment for our participants. Our programs run after school during the school term, on Saturdays and during the school holidays.
We currently have vacancies for Step into Social (ages 18+) Program Facilitators across our Fremantle and Marangaroo sites. Each Step into Social (SIS) program operates on a consistent fortnightly basis, with opportunity to take on additional arising roles and/or convert to a part-time contract subject to performance and availability.
Position Description
Utilise a strength-based approach focusing on special interests to create opportunities for people to come together to share interests and create friendships;
Collaborate with participants and their parents/carers to assess and cater to the needs of the individual;
Plan and deliver sessions tailored to and accommodating the collective interests identified by participants through various centre-based activities, outdoor activities and excursions/incursions;
Mentor, coach and support individuals and encourage greater social inclusion;
Manage a team of group assistants, students and volunteer staff;
Attend and contribute to meetings concerning the participants in the program; and
Undertake administrative tasks, conduct intake interviews, maintain effective recording systems and respond to queries; and participant reporting requirements as needed.
This position requires you to have a WWCC and NDIS clearance check which we can help you obtain.
What you ideally will bring to the role
Relevant qualifications (i.e social work, psychology, counselling, community services) and/or experience in working with neurodiverse individuals;
A strength-based understanding of neurodiversity, particularly autism;
Proven ability to manage complex behaviour and respond to participant needs;
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to problem solve under pressure;
High standard of written and verbal communication; and
Strong leadership skills previous experience managing teams of staff or volunteers.
