About the role
The ATODS Youth Harm Reduction Worker is responsible for:
- providing support to the development and implementation of strategic and local prevention and promotion initiatives for the ATODS service aimed at Young People and their supports.
- contributing to the development of strategic networks and partnerships that enhance the achievement of young people and service outcomes within ATODS.
- Actively engaging youth in an outreach model of service delivery within a harm minimisation framework to deliver comprehensive drug and alcohol services to youth, family and friends.
Requirements
- While not mandatory, possession of a qualification in the Community services field would be well regarded.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- The incumbent will be required to travel in this position by road, air or sea and drive Queensland Health vehicles to meet operational requirements.
- Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check; from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
- Some work outside of normal working hours may be required.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
- A period of probation may apply.
