• Full-Time, Permanent Position
• Classification: Registered Nurse Level 2 with salary range of: $100,064 - $105,123; per annum + Superannuation.

About your new role

As a Mental Health Nurse, you will draw on your clinical nursing skills and youth mental health experience to deliver high-quality, inclusive support to young people accessing the YES program. You will provide trauma-informed and developmentally appropriate care, including clinical assessment, brief and crisis interventions, care coordination, physical health support and safety planning.

You will work within a transdisciplinary team that includes clinicians, lived experience peer workers and operational support, and will actively contribute to a culture of collaboration, inclusion and accountability. The role will also support integration with other services by working in partnership withCAMHS, headspace, GPs, emergency departments, and community organisations.

What you will bring to the role

• Accredited registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. AHPRA, AASW, ACA)
• Experience within youth mental health service delivery, including intake or assessment services
• Demonstrated understanding of the developmental needs of young people aged 12-25, including their social, emotional, and cognitive development, and the importance of engagement strategies that are youth-centred and trauma-informed.
• Demonstrated understanding of the developmental needs of young people aged 12-25, including the impact of mental health challenges on identity formation, education, relationships, and risk behaviours.
• Experience in trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and culturally safe practice, including work with LGBTIQA+, neurodivergent and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people
• Experience collaborating with external stakeholders, such as headspace, CAMHS, primary care, education and AOD services
• Personal lived/living experience of recovery either as an individual or as a family, friend or carer. Your recovery experience may be related to mental health, suicidal crisis, drugs and alcohol use or trauma
• Willingness to identify or be identified by others as a professional with lived experience of recovery
• Willingness to share and draw on lived experience purposefully in the role to instill confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery

• Current Working with Children Check - required before commencement of work
• Current Nursing AHPRA registration
• Current Australian drivers licence and access to a car
