As a Lecturer in Nursing at the University of Melbourne, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of healthcare. You'll teach across our flagship Master of Nursing Science and internationally recognised postgraduate courses, while also pursuing your own research interests. This role offers you the chance to shape nursing education, contribute to cutting-edge research, and collaborate with industry partners in a supportive, values-driven environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead Innovative Teaching and Learning: Develop and deliver engaging coursework, coordinate teaching activities, and contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning.
- Conduct Impactful Research: Undertake independent and collaborative research, publish in refereed journals, and secure funding through grant applications.
- Mentor Future Nursing Leaders: Supervise graduate researchers and postgraduate students, fostering their academic and professional development.
- Collaborate and Contribute: Actively participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and build effective relationships within and outside the University.
You may be a great fit if:
You are a registered nurse with a PhD, demonstrating a strong commitment to nursing education and research, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective collaborations in a dynamic academic environment.
You may also:
- Be a Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration and have completed (or are close to completing) a PhD.
- Have demonstrated experience in academic teaching and research generation.
- Possess a track record of scholarly publications and knowledge translation in nursing.
- Have excellent problem-solving, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate the capacity to negotiate, exercise initiative, and innovate in your field.
- Have experience in, or be willing to pursue, postgraduate qualifications in adult or clinical education.
