Para Unit Coordinator at the Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS)
WAIS is seeking a Para Unit Coordinator to ensure efficient service delivery by coordinating logistics and administering key organisational processes that support para athletes and high performance outcomes. The successful candidate will have a passion for para sport and experience in coordinating program operations. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders are essential.
This position is part time, 15 hours per week and is maximum term until June 2026 with the potential to extend. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000 per annum pro rata.

Role Overview:
As a Para Unit Coordinator, your key areas of responsibility would include:
- Coordinating para athlete processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of program requirements.
- Monitoring para athlete compliance and providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Organising and managing travel logistics for Para Unit staff and para athletes.
- Scheduling and documenting program meetings and ensure clarity of expectations for staff and para athletes.
- Maintaining accurate athlete records in the Athlete Management System (AMS).
- Onboarding new para athletes to program systems and processes.
- Collaborating with coaches, managers, and support staff to deliver para athlete-centred support.
- Driving continuous improvement in administrative practices and program performance.
- Implementing and coordinating systems to monitor and enhance program outcomes.
About you:
- Qualifications & Experience: You have a qualification in Sports Administration, Sports Management or a related field and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar roles and/or or demonstrated knowledge through lived experience.
- Passion for Para Sport: You bring experience and a genuine passion for para-sport with a solid understanding of classification and para athletes.
- Communication Skills: You are an excellent communicator, able to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders, including para athletes, coaches, partners, and parents.
- Team Player: You thrive in collaborative, high-performance environments, driving success through teamwork and constructive problem-solving.
- Attention to Detail: You are highly organised, ensuring administrative and operational processes are completed accurately and confidentially.
- Technical Skills: You have experience with information management systems and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft 365.
- Personal Integrity: You are a team player who acts with kindness and integrity and is committed to the values of WAIS.
- You have, or are willing to obtain, a Working with Children Check, National Police Criminal History check and agree to Swimming Australia Integrity checks.
