The Opportunity
DASA is seeking a part-time (0.8 FTE) Assessment Worker based in Alice Springs, NT. This crucial role is responsible for conducting client assessments, managing the intake process, and ensuring individuals receive the support they need to engage with DASA’s rehabilitation programs.
Your key responsibilities include:
Conducting culturally safe, face-to-face, and phone-based client assessments
Managing intake emails and responding to referrals within set timeframes
Collaborating with internal teams and external service providers to facilitate program admissions
Creating and maintaining accurate client records using the Mimaso database
Coordinating Centrelink enrolments and monitoring financial obligations for residents
Providing brief intervention support as part of the assessment process
Upholding DASA policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives
About You
To thrive in this role, you will have:
Experience in conducting assessments or intake processes in a similar field
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work with diverse clients
Strong organisational and time management skills
High-level computer literacy and database management experience
The ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards
A collaborative mindset to work effectively within a small assessment team
Additionally, the following qualifications and experience will be highly regarded:
Cert IV in Community Services (Alcohol & Other Drugs) – Highly Desirable
Familiarity with screening and assessment tools
Knowledge of the Mimaso client database or similar systems
Understanding of trauma-informed care principles
