With the launch of Eacon Mining Technology Australia Pty Ltd in December 2023 and with the significant milestones of 2024, we have not only established our new office in West Perth but have also expanded collaboration with our partners and clients. We are rapidly growing, and as such, we are looking for talented professionals to join our thriving team in Perth.
We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Test Engineer to support the testing and validation of our autonomous mining trucks and by-wire vehicle control systems (e.g. steering, braking, shifting). You will work across a workshop and field environment, collaborating closely with both Australian project teams and China-based engineering teams to ensure safe, reliable system performance. You will gain valuable experience working alongside highly intelligent and capable professionals from our engineering, product, and operations teams. This sole is offered on a full time basis and suits a recent graduate or a candidate with at least 2-3 years’ experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct functional testing of autonomous driving features (e.g. obstacle avoidance, emergency stop, route following).
Test and calibrate by-wire systems (steering, braking, throttle, shifting).
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in real-time on vehicles and systems.
Communicate effectively with the China R&D team to report issues, request support, and provide feedback.
Support GNSS calibration, sensor alignment, and CAN bus diagnostics.
Prepare test plans, logs, and technical documentation.
Participate in field validation, commissioning, and demonstrations.
Essential Criteria:
Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Automotive, Robotics, or related field.
Proficient in both Mandarin and English, with strong technical communication skills.
Knowledge of vehicle control systems, CAN bus, sensors, GNSS.
Experience in Bash scripting.
Experience in programming languages such as C/C++/Python/Java.
Desirable Criteria:
Interest in mining technology, automation, or autonomous vehicle systems.
Basic knowledge of communication networks and IT systems is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, and ability to work in dynamic field environments.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Willing to travel frequently and work at remote mining sites as needed.
Hands-on mindset, able to work in field environments and troubleshoot under pressure.
Willing to travel to remote mine sites as needed.
Experience with heavy vehicles or autonomous driving systems.
