The Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced HR/Payroll Officer to cover parental leave commencing in early September 2025 through to October 2026. Reporting to the General Manager - People & Culture, the position is responsible for completing fortnightly payroll and general HR administrative tasks for an employee group of approximately 65 staff.
Position Details:
Type: Part time (0.5 to 0.6 FTE) Flexible work options are available for the right candidate, however payroll processing days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so availability on these days is essential.
Salary: Competitive salary starting at $37 per hour, plus superannuation ($73k full time equivalent).
Additional Benefits: Salary packaging, up to three bonus leave days over Christmas-New Year, flexible work arrangements, and a strong focus on professional development with various training opportunities.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Complete all steps in the fortnightly payroll process.
Respond to queries from stakeholders, including staff, managers, salary packaging providers, superannuation funds, etc.
Maintain personnel records and associated human resources information.
Contribute to the recruitment & selection process, including advertising of job vacancies, and conducting reference checks.
Prepare template documents including letters, contracts, and variations.
Process professional development / training requests, bookings and payments.
Complete Health and Safety checklists / inspections and maintain WHS compliance records.
Ideal candidates will have (selection criteria):
A minimum of two years’ HR/Payroll experience.
Demonstrated payroll processing proficiency.
Knowledge of human resources principles and contemporary practice.
Working knowledge of industrial relations/relevant legislation.
The ability to work collaboratively and effectively contribute to team outputs.
Sound time management and organisation skills.
Solution focussed problem solving skills.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Demonstrated digital literacy.
