The Role

As a Trade Assistant based at our North-Eastern location, you will play a key role in both assisting customers in the yard and driving sales in-store. This is a hands-on position that requires a mix of physical work, product knowledge, and strong customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting customers with timber selection and processing orders

Providing product advice and upselling where appropriate

Processing sales transactions and handling customer inquiries

Operating forklifts and other yard equipment (training provided if required)

Preparing & packing orders

Maintaining yard cleanliness and stock organisation

Assisting with deliveries and inventory management

Following safety procedures and ensuring a secure work environment

What We’re Looking For

Experience in a timber yard, hardware store, or trade sales environment (preferred but not essential)

Customer service skills

Strong problem-solving abilities with a customer-centric approach.

Forklift license (or willingness to obtain one)

Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials

A team player with a strong work ethic and reliability

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
