About the role
We are seeking a compassionate, detailed orientated and experienced Registered Nurse to step into a part-time Health & Education Nurse (Disability Services) role and to join our committed team. You will provide critical leadership and oversight across our Supported Independent Living (SIL) and in-home support clients, with a strong focus on training, education, competency, and quality care delivery. We’re open to applicants whom hold EN, or RN qualifications—though an RN is preferred. If an EN, you MUST display proven experience in similar roles and skill level. Immediate start available for the right candidate.
Your daily duties will include but not be limited to:
Lead and deliver internal clinical training and education aligned with organisational and NDIS requirements (e.g. medications, bowel care, dysphagia, epilepsy).
Provide sign-offs for staff competencies
Delivering personalised nursing care and support to clients with a range of disabilities and complex health needs
Developing and implementing individualised care plans to address clients' physical, emotional and social needs, as well as their global disability support requirements
Administering medications, monitoring vital signs, escalation and management of concerns if required
Educating clients and their families on health management, disability-specific care, and independent living strategies
Collaborating with allied health professionals to coordinate holistic care and achieve positive outcomes for clients
Maintaining accurate client and employee records, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies
Collate and review monthly client health data, identify trends, and prepare summaries
Actively participating in team meetings and continuous professional development activities
Maintain APHRA registration
About You
Along with a passion for providing high quality care to clients, a strong work ethic and having had previous experience in a similar role you'll be/have:
Registered Nurse with current APHRA registration
Full Australian working rights - we cannot accept applicants who require sponsorship
Minimum 12 months experience in community nursing, disability services, or a related field
Demonstrated understanding of disability-specific care and an ability to tailor nursing support accordingly
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-centric approach
Proficient in care planning, client and employee record-keeping, stakeholder collaborations - both internally and externally
Emotionally resilient, understand the impact of working in disability services, and have strong boundaries and self-care practices
You're flexible, adaptable, and committed to growing with the organisation, helping shape sustainable and best practice systems and processes
Flexibility to work part-time hours, inclusive of 7am shift starting times
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
