ABOUT US:
Australian Veteran Health Services (AVHS) is a unique, multi-disciplinary medical service supporting former and current Defence personnel as they transition to civilian life. Established by Veterans for Veterans, we work collaboratively with established medical and ex-service organisations to provide DVA claims support, Permanent Impairment Assessments, Veteran Review Board (VRB) reports, and ADF Transition Medicals.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
Manning our Spring Central clinic you will be the first point of contact, you’ll provide a warm welcome to veterans, visitors, and our healthcare professionals. Reporting to the Clinical Manager, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and professional experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
ABOUT YOU:
You are a highly experienced Receptionist with a background in practice administration. With strong interpersonal and communication skills, you build trusting relationships and can navigate multiple stakeholders with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Managing reception area and operations, including answering calls, emails and scheduling appointments.
Handling veteran inquiries with care, professionalism and confidentiality
Processing documentation including, Medicare and DVA claims
Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations
Maintaining accurate records and supporting the clinical team
Ensuring Compliance with health care regulations and RACGP accreditation requirements
Selection Criteria
✔ Minimum 3 years’ experience in a busy medical practice
✔ Proficiency in Best Practice or other medical booking software
✔ Strong customer service and communication skills
✔ Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team
Desirable:
✔ Experience working with Australian veterans or veteran-focused services
✔ Knowledge of the DVA claims process
