We are seeking a motivated and experienced Data Engineering Consultant with strong Azure ecosystem expertise to join our transformation programs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in data pipeline development, data integration, and enterprise data modelling, with hands-on experience using Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and Databricks.
This role is particularly suited to candidates with strong modelling experience across both Data Vault 2.0 and Dimensional Star Schema approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Engineering & Integration: Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines across Azure and Snowflake to support enterprise reporting and analytics use cases.
Enterprise Data Modelling: Implement and optimise data models using Data Vault 2.0 and Dimensional Modelling to enable robust and auditable reporting solutions.
Data Quality & Governance: Ensure accuracy and completeness of data through systematic validation, transformation logic, and metadata management practices.
Platform Development: Leverage Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, SQL Server, and Databricks to manage end-to-end data workflows, orchestration, and transformation at scale.
Documentation & Collaboration: Produce data dictionaries, solution design documents, lineage diagrams, and work collaboratively with BI, governance, and business stakeholders.
Performance Tuning: Optimise data pipeline and query performance across cloud-native platforms.
Requirements:
Citizenship: Must be an Australian citizen.
Experience: 7+ years in data engineering, ELT/ETL development, or cloud data platform delivery roles.
Technical Skills:
Advanced SQL (including T-SQL) and experience with performance tuning in analytical environments.
Strong hands-on development using Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, Databricks, and related tooling.
Deep understanding of data warehousing principles and experience implementing Data Vault and Dimensional Models.
Engagement: Ability to engage with business SMEs and technical leads to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
Project Readiness: Must be available for a 4 week start in a hybrid/agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with modern data governance platforms and lineage tooling.
Previous project involvement in finance, supply chain, or customer analytics domains.
Familiarity with DevOps CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure.
