Your role
The Pharmacist will provide a ward based clinical pharmacy service including drug chart review, and one-on-one patient counselling at the bedside, with the pharmacist being a valuable member of the therapeutic team.
This position will be offered on a fixed term contract until August 2026, working 76 hours per fortnight.
The Position
- Dispensing medications and education of patients in their use.
- Provide a ward pharmacy service to a specific ward including review of drug therapy charts, patient medication education and liaison with medical and other paramedical staff.
- Preparation of aseptic items in accordance with the guidelines set down by the Code of Manufacturing Practice, SHPA Practice standards and Hospital Policies.
- To provide assistance in the pharmacy with dispensing and cover of other pharmacists' duties as required.
- Supervision of imprest stock distribution, bulk manufacturing of prepacking by Pharmacy Technicians as required.
- Provision of continuing education lectures for staff development within the Hospital.
- Contributes to and is involved in Quality Activities with a focus on best practice.
- Participates in determining and evaluating the quality of care being delivered to patients.
- Co-operates in data collection of hospital-wide Quality Activity projects and Clinical Indicators.
You will be registered as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA). In addition, you will have well-developed interpersonal, communication skills with the ability to relate to others in a sensitive and professional manner.
To succeed you will have the ability to work well in a team environment and have excellent time management and organisational skills. You will demonstrate senior clinical skills within the cope of a Pharmacist.

- Salary Grade 2: $95,276 to $111,286 plus 12% superannuation
