There is something for everyone in the Chats program and we are now on the hunt for our next Program Officer!

Lifeline Tasmania's Chats program offers a variety of services to Tasmanian's, from group and individual social support through to allied health - social work and counselling services.

Responsible for supporting the effective operations of the Chats program and its recipients, raising community awareness, and providing comprehensive and detailed intake assessments for potential participants, the part-time, 2 year contracted Program Officer will collaborate with participants and their representatives around support needs and service requirements, annually assessing, planning and reviewing participant set goals and strategies.

Participating in the development of regional monthly calendar of activities, maintaining the program databases and supporting staff in the effective use of the databases, a large component of the Program Officer position will be undertaking group and one on one administration, supporting staff and volunteers with risk-assessments, transport sheets and petty cash entitlements.

About You

Your fabulous interpersonal skills facilitate the creation of networks, both internally and externally to the organisation, and your empathetic approach naturally enables you to provide effective support and assistance to all individuals whilst embracing and respecting their diversity.

A collaborative team player competent in the use of IT systems, you have highly developed organisational skills including the capacity to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines with ease.

The technical bits...

To be considered for this opportunity you will need:

Relevant qualifications in home and community aged care, and demonstrated experience working in the aged care sector,

a current unrestricted Tasmanian driver’s licence (candidates with an automatic license only may still be considered) and

be willing, keen and able to transport our truly amazing participants in a sedan and/or small bus.
