Student and Volunteer Coordinator
Location: Hybrid – Mile End office, work from home, and external stakeholder meetings
Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time (15 hours per week)

Salary and Conditions:
SCHADS Award Level 4.1
Generous salary sacrifice packaging arrangements (up to $15,900 tax-free, plus a meals and entertainment package of up to $2,650)
Hybrid working model (Mile End office, home-based work, and off-site engagement)
Key Responsibilities:
The Student and Volunteer Coordinator will:
Coordinate day-to-day activities and placements of volunteers and students across Zahra Foundation programs
Provide support, guidance and mentorship to ensure volunteers and students are equipped to deliver services aligned with our values and mission
Manage compliance requirements, including police checks, Working with Children Checks, and documentation
Lead onboarding and induction processes, as well as develop and facilitate ongoing training
Maintain accurate records, scheduling, and reporting on volunteer activities
Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders, including representing Zahra Foundation at relevant forums (e.g. Volunteering SA events, University events)
Ensure volunteer and student roles align with and support the effective delivery of programs
To be successful, the candidate will have:
Essential Requirements:
Possession of an open driver’s licence
Possession of a Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance
Previous experience as a volunteer management or a related field
Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated experience coordinating volunteers or student placements, preferably within a community or not-for-profit setting
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Sound understanding of trauma-informed practice and the needs of women impacted by domestic and family violence
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive, inclusive relationships with volunteers, students, and staff
Experience in delivering orientation and training sessions
Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident working with databases and record management systems
Desirable:
Experience working with volunteers in a service that supports vulnerable populations
Knowledge of safeguarding and compliance obligations for volunteer coordination
Training in recognising and responding to domestic and family violence
Certificate IV or higher in social and community services
