A bit about the role
In this role you will manage a small team to provide procurement services for technology and professional services categories and deliver high quality customer service by building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
You will work with a broad range of stakeholders to undertake procurement planning, strategy development and identify capacity building requirements and provide advice on contract management.
What you’ll deliver
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders as central point of contact to understand business requirements and align category management strategies with organisational objectives.
- Work proactively with stakeholders to coordinate and oversee the annual procurement planning process to enable a strong strategic procurement approach.
- Provide advice on techniques and actions to manage risk for high value complex procurements and relationships, working closely with stakeholders to identify and manage risks which may arise from procurement activity and supply base arrangements.
- Conduct market analysis and supplier evaluations to identify potential cost reduction opportunities and mitigate risks, including by remaining informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes that may impact category management strategies.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
- Manage and develop a small team to deliver on organisational requirements and provide excellent customer service.
What you’ll bring
- Demonstrated experience in public sector procurement and management of end-to-end procurement processes, including requirements gathering, tendering, evaluation and contract negotiation;
- Demonstrated leadership experience;
- Ability to comprehend, analyse and interpret complex technical specifications;
- A tertiary qualification in commerce or law desirable;
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written, analytical and verbal skills to communicate with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and senior management.
- A growth mindset that is solution-focused and able to build relationships;
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
