What you'll be doing
The Intellectual Disability clinician will inform and guide health staff on the delivery of care for people with intellectual disability and their carers and families.
The position will lead the development of appropriate clinical practice for patients/clients with intellectual disability and their carers and families in any hospital or site in the local health district e.g. community health or outpatient setting.
The position will assist the Northern Sydney LHD specialised intellectual disability health team in developing and delivering outreach in the district. The outreach service will include multidisciplinary assessment and care planning for people with complex health needs and intellectual disability and activity to build the skills, confidence and experience of mainstream clinicians.
The position will strategically drive disability inclusion frameworks and develop strategies to support systemic improvement within the MNCLHD.
About you
Do you have current registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Aust with at least 5 yrs full time equivalent post registration experience or post graduate qualifications with at least 3 yrs full time experience in the relevant field; Completion of Masters or Doctoral Degree in Clin Psych; Snr Psych with registration with the Psych Board of Australia; Bach degree in physio or equivalent qualifcations for registration or eligibility for registration with the Physio Board of Aust; Bach of OT or equivalent quals recognised for registration with the OT Board of Aust; Bach degree in counselling; Tertiary Degree in Social Work providing eligibility for membership of AASW; Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics that provides for full membership of the Dietitians Assoc of Aust; Bach or post graduate degree in Speech Path or equivalent and eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Path Aust; Bach in Health Science or applied sciences in leisure, recreation or diversional therapy recognised by the Diversional Therapy Associates of Australia National Council; Bach of Community Welfare or relevant field for Welfare Officer

Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) covers an area of 11,335 square kilometres extending from Port Macquarie Hastings Local Government Area in the south to Coffs Harbour Local Government Area in the north.
