MSS Security is seeking a dedicated Full Time Security Officer to join our team at the Family Law Court in Launceston. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and smooth operation of the courthouse. Your role will involve a variety of security-related tasks including x-ray screening and concierge duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct x-ray screening of personal items for visitors and staff entering the courthouse, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
• Provide a professional, courteous, and helpful point of contact for staff and visitors, assisting with general inquiries and directions.
• Regularly patrol the premises internally on foot, monitoring the building and surrounding areas for any security risks or suspicious activity.
• Respond appropriately and promptly to incidents, emergencies, or breaches.
• Monitor and control access points, ensuring only authorised personnel are allowed entry.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deescalate tense situations.
• A readiness, confidence, and assertiveness to manage challenging situations.

Requirements:

• Full Australian working rights.
• Certificate II (or higher) in Security Operations.
• Valid Tasmanian Security licence.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certificates (or willing to obtain).
• Working With Vulnerable People (or willing to obtain).
