About the role

Muswellbrook Race Club is seeking a dedicated Casual Grounds Keeper to join our close knit team. In this casual role, you will maintain the tracks, grounds and gardens of our iconic racecourse located in Muswellbrook, NSW. This is a great opportunity to be part of an exciting and fast-paced environment within the thoroughbred and hospitality industries.

What you'll be doing

Performing general gardening and landscaping duties, including mowing, whipper snipping, weeding, rubbish removal and other general duties as required

Maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the racecourse grounds

Cleaning and maintaining horse wash facilities, horse stall area, swab box and mounting yard

Operating and maintaining various gardening equipment and tools

Assisting with special event set up and clean up as required

Collaborating with the grounds team to ensure a high standard of presentation is maintained

What we're looking for

Relevant experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance

Knowledge of horticulture and proper landscaping techniques (although not essential)

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic

Physically fit and able to perform manual labour tasks

Flexible and available to work on a casual basis. Work hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, but may vary and may include some weekends and public holidays

Current drivers licence essential
