Working with the School of Health you will be part of our Campus based Educator team led by our Nursing Program and Placement Coordinators who together are responsible for the design, planning, implementation, and assessment of teaching and learning for Diploma of Nursing students. This includes face to face teaching, lab assessment support and facilitation of students on placement within hospitals and all health care facilities.
This role is specific to delivering theory-based sessions for one of the following: Primary Health, Diabetes, Palliative Care, Wound Care, Research, First Nations Health, Diversity education.
Working with our group of passionate heath educational specialists you will be an integral part of a team that empowers our future Nurses and Health practitioners to grow in their learning and clinical competency.
Your Key requirements:
Training and Assessment
Conduct competency-based training and assessment of learners using a range of delivery modes including face-to-face, mixed-mode, workplace based, external and online
Deliver customised training in Primary Health, Mental Health, Diabetes, Palliative Care, Wound Care, Research, First Nations Health, Diversity
Deliver teaching and learning programs and provide educational leadership through support to other educators and demonstration of 'good practice'
Participate in an independent contribution in teaching and/or research, coordinate and/or lead the activities of other staff to the discipline
Undertake relevant community engagement for consultation and contribute to administration requirements
Complete administrative tasks associated with training provision in a timely and accurate manner, including the maintenance of accurate learner records
Development and Maintenance of Training Materials
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of training materials in accordance with Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) requirements
Open Colleges School of Health trainers need to prioritise their time effectively to ensurethere is a balance between educational delivery and administrative documentation tasks tomeetpolicyrequirements
To be successful at this role, you will have:
Current industry skills and knowledge
Monitor and maintain quality assurance in the Diploma of Nursing tead
Demonstrate contemporary knowledge of computer software such as Moodle and the Microsoft Office suite
Key Selection Criteria
Current and unconditional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse (RN or Division 1)
Current/Recency of Practice in the specialist area
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 plus upgrade or TAE40116) or higher qualification
Holds at least 3-5 years of clinical experience in the clinical areas relevant to the area of their teaching
Familiarity with the NMBA Enrolled nurse standards for practice 2016 and the NMBA Registered nurse standards for practice 2016
Demonstrated academic teaching experience including planning, delivering, evaluating and assessing clinical skills, classroom and online learning
Demonstrated experience or an ability to work in a cross-cultural environment with an appreciation of wider equity issues within the workplace and commitment to Equal Opportunity policies and procedures
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective workplace relationships with relevant stakeholders and team members in a nursing and/or teaching environment
Desirable Selection Criteria
Knowledge and awareness of current issues and future trends in health care delivery impacting on the role and scope of practice of Enrolled Nurses and their training
Local state knowledge of regulatory, government and industry initiatives that impact on Enrolled Nursing
Localstate knowledge of the healthcare industry network
